Mark McGinnis Recognized as Ambassador of Excellence by NOAA and NWS

Mark McGinnis, CCM and his company Fair Skies Consulting was selected as a 2022 National Weather Service(NWS) Forecasts WeatherReady Nation Ambassador of Excellence. Every year a small group of WeatherReady Ambassadors are nominated by National Weather Service (NWS) Forecasts Offices across the United States. These nominations are voted on and are used to recognize organizations that routinely go above and beyond the basic expectations of a WeatherReady Nation Ambassador.

Fair Skies Consulting was recognized for their “recruiting and assisting of schools to become StormReady Supporters in collaboration with NWS Milwaukee. From making school officials aware of the requirements to walking through their safety plans, you are undoubtedly helping to save lives”.

Ambassadors of Excellence:

• Inspire others to act and become ready, responsive and resilient
• Create innovative ways to engage their community
• Form unique collaborations with National Ocean and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and other ambassador organizations
• Embrace building “a WeatherReady Nation for All” by addressing vulnerable populations’ needs

The 2022 WeatherReady Nation Ambassadors are recognized in the December 2022 BAMS edition of the American Meteorological Society on page 935.

The StormReady program of NOAA and the NWS offers participants increased safety and resiliency using federal best practices when dealing with extreme weather. This is the program Fair Skies Consulting uses to assist school districts and communities to become better educated, prepared and resilient to extreme weather.
