Founded in 1968, the Association of Certified Meteorologists (formerly the National Council of Industrial Meteorologists) is an active professional association of private sector consulting and industrial meteorologists. ACM was formed to accommodate the diverse needs and interests within the weather consulting and information industry. ACM provides its members with opportunities for professional networking and development as well as serves as a unified voice for the consulting and industrial meteorology communities in national conversations around policy, technology, and government services relevant to the field of meteorology.
ACM members believe that mentoring future meteorologists is a commitment to our profession. ACM members are highly represented in the AMS CCM mentoring program.
The ACM President serves on the Steering Committee (SC) of the American Meteorological Society's (AMS) Commission on Weather, Water, and Climate Enterprise (CWWCE).
The CWWCE is charged with developing and implementing programs that address the needs and concerns of all sectors of the weather, water, and climate enterprise. https://www.ametsoc.org/cwwce/
